MRI / MRA
Magnetic Resonance Imaging and magnetic resonance angiography are provided at AMI using a Siemens 1.5 Tesla AERA. MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio frequency pulses to produce detailed images of our bodies. AMI has special headphones to help mask the noise of the machine and provide our patients with music of their choice. If claustrophobia is a concern, discuss this with our staff during scheduling. We have a high success rate in managing the claustrophic patient with a combination of increased scheduling times, soothing music, positioning and if necessary, medication.
CT / CTA
CT or Cat Scan is Computed Tomography which uses X-rays to produce detailed anatomical images. Here at AMI we provide a full range of CT services on our new Siemens Scope Power Scanner. This scanner allows us to produce quality images while ensuring a low radiation dose.
Bone Density (DEXA)
Bone density scanning, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) or bone densitometry, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. DEXA is today's established standard for measuring bone mineral density (BMD).
Advanced Medical Imaging is proud to now offer 3D mammography, the latest advance in the detection of breast cancer. This revolutionary tool allows breast tissue to be examined in thin 1-millimeter sections. This means earlier cancer detection, greater accuracy and fewer callbacks. Our new system has Smartcurve Breast Stabilization that uses a curved compression surface that offers a more comfortable patient experience. We also have a separate, private mammography waiting area for your comfort.
Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ultrasound exams do not use ionizing radiation (as used in x-rays). Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.
A full range of x-ray services including fluoroscopy and arthrography are provided at AMI.
